Frequently Asked Questions

Why don’t we use a steel tube inside the CoreTech™ Rollers for reinforcement?

The use of a steel tube inside the shell is to add strength and rigidity. Flexco uses advanced nylon and HDPE to do this without a steel shell. The downside to using an internal steel shell in the conveyor environment is that as the outer plastic tube wears thin and the steel shell is revealed and sharpened by belt friction, which can becomea very effective blade that cuts the belt. By contrast, a composite roller shell, when worn through long after a steel shell, will yield to the belt and not present any sort of sharp edge that can damage the belt.
